How to Load a Cargo Trailer
If you’re new to towing or you want a refresher before you get back on the road again, our team has put together a few tips on how to load a cargo trailer properly.
Before loading begins, ensure your model is safely parked on a flat surface. Wheel chocks can ensure that your model doesn’t move during loading.
You’ll want to follow a 60/40 weight distribution when loading your unit. This means 60% of your trailer’s weight should be in the front, while 40% should be in the rear. Starting with heavy items can ensure this distribution happens. As you load your model, be sure to secure heavy items so they don’t move during transit.
Once you’re finished loading your unit, secure it to your vehicle and check that all brake lights and turn signals are functional. Now you’re ready to hit the road!
