Trailer Service and Repair in Minneapolis
Parts counter and service bay on site, a straight run up I-35 from the metro.
A trailer in Minnesota lives in two completely different states, and they break it in opposite ways. About half the year it works hard. The other half it stands still. Almost everything we see traces to one state or the transition between them, so that is how this is organized.
Standing still
Dormancy is not neutral. Five months in one position produces flat-spotted tires, bearings that never turned, grease that migrated away from where it was needed, and a dump battery that discharged quietly because the charge line was not working and nobody had reason to notice.
Cold compounds all of it. Pressures fall with temperature, so a trailer that was correct in October is underinflated by December. And cold removes what capacity remains from a marginal battery - which is exactly how a dump body that worked all autumn will not lift in January.
If you can do one thing for a stored trailer, move it occasionally. Second best: pressures up, charge line confirmed, connector cleaned and greased.
Waking up
This is the dangerous transition and it happens to the whole metro in the same three weeks. A trailer goes from months of stillness to full days with nothing in between, and whatever developed quietly over winter surfaces under load on the first real job.
February and early March are the right window for this check, not April. Bearings, brake adjustment on every axle, pressures against the sidewall rating, the spare, the connector at the truck, and on a dump whether the battery is genuinely being charged as you drive.
Working
Through the season the failures shift to high-cycle hardware - the parts operated dozens of times a day rather than the parts that carry weight. Ramp gate springs, hinges, latches, cables, and tie-down points that have been loaded from a slightly different angle all summer.
Brakes are the other one, and they degrade too slowly to notice. Electric brakes drift out of adjustment gradually, and owners compensate without registering it. If the controller needs more gain than it did last year, that is an adjustment due rather than a setting preference.
Shutting down
The end of the season is the cheapest possible time to fix anything, because nothing is waiting on the trailer. It is also when most owners do nothing at all, which is why spring is so busy. If something felt off in October, October is when to bring it.
Your Two Complimentary 40-Point Inspections
Included with every new trailer, at 12 and 24 months. In a market with this seasonal shape they are worth deliberately scheduling for late winter, ahead of the rush. Bring the trailer as you use it and mention anything that has felt different - "it sounds different loaded" is genuinely useful diagnostic information.
Parts
Bearings, seals, hubs, brake assemblies and magnets, couplers, jacks, lamps and lenses, harnesses and connectors, ramp springs, latches, D-rings, straps, and tires. Bring the trailer or its model details; axle and brake parts are unforgiving of approximation.
Booking
Call ahead, particularly February through April. Describe what the trailer is doing rather than what you think is wrong.

By Trailer Type, Through a Minnesota Year
Enclosed cargo. Brakes, bearings and electrics as routine, plus structural work on floors, walls, roof seams and door seals. Seals matter more here than most places, because the trailer spends five months standing still with weather on it.
Dump. Hydraulic lift, cylinders and pump, and above all the battery and its charge line. In this climate that is the single most common no-lift cause, and it is a cheap fix diagnosed rather than assumed. Floor and wall inspection on the 10-gauge steel, and high-profile sides available.
Utility and equipment. Deck condition, axle service on both axles, and the high-cycle hardware that carries the season - gate springs, hinges, latches and tie-downs. High sides and mesh siding fitted on request.
Tilt. Cylinder service, and worth doing before the season rather than during it.
Allsport, Snowsport and haulers. Torsion axles, tie-downs, ramps, RV-style entry doors and insulation packages. A sled trailer and a summer work trailer are frequently the same trailer here, and it wants servicing for both jobs.
Hitch, Wiring and Controller Setup
We fit hitches and tow wiring and set the controller against your trailer. Bring the truck with you. A controller left on a default number is the reason a lot of trailers feel wrong loaded, and it takes minutes to correct.
Winterising, As One Job
Booked in October or November, this is a single visit that prevents most of what we see in April. Bearings repacked so grease is where it needs to be for five stationary months. Tires inflated to the recommended pressure, because an under-inflated tire standing still develops flat spots. Battery removed and stored somewhere that does not freeze. Hinges, latches, ramp mechanisms and hydraulic components lubricated. Brakes inspected while there is no queue.
If you can only do one thing yourself, move the trailer occasionally so the bearings turn. If you can do two, add the pressures.
Spring Wake-Up, As A Different Job
Booked in February or early March rather than April. Bearings checked for anything that developed while standing. Brake adjustment on every axle, because five months of no use does not leave a brake where it was. Pressures re-set from winter lows. Connector cleaned and greased. On a dump, confirmation that the battery is genuinely charging from the tow vehicle rather than just holding a charge.
The whole metro books this in the same three weeks. Coming in ahead of that window is the difference between a same-week appointment and waiting.
Parts and Accessories
Running gear - bearings, races, seals, hubs, brake assemblies, magnets, drums and springs. Electrical - harnesses, connectors, LED lamps and lenses, ground straps, breakaway switches and brake controllers. Hardware - ramp springs, latches, hinges, cables, D-rings, stake pockets, jacks and couplers.
Accessories that earn their place in this climate: tarp kits on dump bodies, insulation packages, additional interior lighting, tongue boxes, spare tire carriers, security locks, E-track and tie-down systems, high sides, mesh siding and 24-inch side extensions. We fit anything we sell.
Parts for Interstate and Carry-On builds. Bring the trailer or its model details.
