Utility Trailers in Lodi

This is the most-searched category at this store, and the 6x12 is the most-requested single trailer on the lot. Open decks load from any side, which is the one thing no enclosed trailer can offer back to you.

The sizes, and who buys them

4x6 and 4x8. Homeowner trailers. Prunings, bagged material, a push mower. They store against a fence or in a single garage bay.

5x8 and 5x10. The step most people should take instead - similar storage footprint, noticeably more deck, and the 5x10 converts unusually well here.

6x10 and 6x12. The working sizes. A 6x12 takes a zero-turn with strapping room or a pallet of block. The 6x10 sits near the top of the page for its own search and the 6x12 outsells everything.

6x14 and 6.5x14. Where valley crews land when a 6x12 starts dictating how they pack.

7x14, 7x16 and 7x18 tandem. Crew trailers. A standard pallet crosses the deck with room to strap it, and two mid-size machines sit abreast rather than nose to tail.

Interstate, Carry-On and Karavan

All three are on the lot in the utility range, which is unusual and worth taking advantage of. Interstate is exclusive to TrailersPlus at retail. Carry-On sits at a different price point and specification. Karavan modular builds are specifically asked for here by name - the modular design is the distinguishing feature and it comes up in searches at this store more than at most.

The differences live in deck construction, gate hardware and rating rather than in anything visible from ten feet away. Ask rather than assume, because on a trailer you will own for a decade those are exactly the parts that matter.

Configuration options

Axles. Single for lighter loads and smoother ground; tandem for heavier loads, rough ground and any real distance at weight.

Top styles. Pipe top for durability and for strapping tall loads against something. High sides for vertical capacity. Mesh for containment without much added weight.

Flooring. Wood as the default and cheapest wear surface to replace, steel for abrasive loads, mesh where shedding dirt and water matters.

Side extensions. Twenty-four inch extensions add real volume for bulky light material. If your loads fill the deck long before reaching the rating, this is cheaper than a bigger trailer.

ATV setups. Tie-down points and ramp arrangement matched to a machine rather than to general cargo. Specify at order; retrofitted anchor points are always a compromise.

Central Valley considerations

Sun ages trailer tires here faster than the tread wears, so judge them by age and condition rather than remaining tread, and order a mounted spare. Dust is hard on gate hinges and hub seals. And if you are hauling wet soil or aggregate rather than green waste, weigh the load rather than eyeballing it - both are far heavier per cubic yard than people expect.

Browse the utility inventory, or bring the heaviest and most awkward load of a normal month and we will size it with you.

Matching it to your tow vehicle

The trailer is only half the decision. Check the tow rating in your owner’s manual against the loaded weight, not the empty weight, and leave a margin above your usual payload rather than buying to the limit. The Gross Combination Weight Rating covers vehicle, trailer, passengers and cargo together, and it is the number people forget.

Brakes come standard on the tandems. Bring the truck and we will check the connector and set the controller against the trailer before you drive away, because a controller left on a factory default is the single most common reason a rig feels wrong loaded.

Loading it properly

Aim for roughly sixty percent of the weight ahead of the axles. Too far back and the trailer will sway at speed no matter how well maintained it is; too far forward and you overload the tongue. Strap to the rated tie-down points rather than to the rails, and if a machine is going on regularly, have anchor points placed where you actually strap it rather than working around a generic layout.

Service and warranty

There is a service bay and parts counter on South Beckman Road, and every new trailer includes two complimentary 40-point safety inspections at 12 and 24 months. Interstate trailers carry a minimum one-year overall warranty with terms varying by model line - ask us to confirm coverage on the specific trailer you are looking at.
